Reading Dianetics I've been a Scientologist for many years, but I recently re-read the book called
Dianetics: the Modern Science of Mental Health and was surprized how much more I got out of it this time than the last time I read it.
One thing that I think is really helpful is that
Scientology churches,
missions and groups have
Dianetics seminars and workshops where people can learn the skills laid out in the book. There is also an excellent "how to" DVD that explains many of the basic principles of Dianetics and enables anyone to connect up with another person intersted in the subject.
Someone who uses Dianetics techniques is called an
"auditor" from the Latin word "audire" meaning "to listen" because in Scientology and Dianetics, the person who helps someone with this techniques
listens they don't
tell you what to think, they help you find your own answers.
At a Dianetics seminar you pair up with another person and you audit him or her and he or she audits you.
It's amazing how helpful Dianetics auditing can be, and how easy it is to learn and do.
