Here's another great Scientology Volunteer Ministers story.
The Scientology Volunteer Ministers Goodwill Tour is in Auckland, New Zealand, preparing for its launch to Fiji, the first stop in its tour through the South Pacific islands.
As with the Volunteer Ministers Goodwill Tours in Africa, Central Europe, South America and India, and new tours about to embark on their humanitarian mission across Russia and the Far East, the team will meet with civic leaders in each nation, learn what the community needs and provide training to help them accomplish their humanitarian goals, using technology developed by Scientology founder, L. Ron Hubbard They will also train Scientology Volunteer Ministers in each country to leave behind teams that will continue their work once they are gone.
L. Ron Hubbard described the Scientology Volunteer Minister program in the following terms, in an essay titled Religious Influence in Society:
"A Volunteer Minister is a person who helps his fellow man on a volunteer basis by restoring purpose, truth and spiritual values to the lives of others.
"A Volunteer Minister does not shut his eyes to the pain, evil and injustice of existence. Rather, he is trained to handle these things and help others achieve relief from them and new personal strength as well."
